Peek-a-boo
Central North Carolina
This is an award-winning nature photograph of a great horned owl. Great horned owls are also called raptors or birds of prey. This female great horned owl jumped behind the bale of hay and then peeked around it, chattering all the time, as if playing a game of peek-a-boo. She definitely displayed a unique personality!
